Paul is a Christian which means he tries to place the person of Jesus at the centre of all that he does! He believes the church is fantastic organisation made up of people that can bring about lasting and real community transformation. Paul has worked with church and community groups across the UK and overseas to set up projects that are now working on the frontline of communities demonstrating that the Kingdom of God is a reality.
Paul is the CEO of CNI (Christian Nightlife Initiatives) Network which supports and resources over 130 local projects working primarily within the night-time economy. Since launching Street Angels in 2005 Paul has become an influential voice in terms of linking the church with MP's, Police, media and local government. Paul also believes in hands-on ministry so often visits local projects to join them on patrol as well as taking part in one off events such as Leeds Festival Angels, Kendal Calling Festival Angels and Boardmasters Festival Angels (a colleague of Paul within Festival Angels recently said, "Festival Angels wouldn't be anywhere near where it is without your years of commitment and hard work - a highly regarded significant and effective ministry to many hundreds of volunteers and many thousands of young people."
Paul believes that faith is an incredible force for good in our society and people of faith are some of the most committed, community focussed, passionate people within society. The work of faith groups is not a means to fill pews but comes out of a real desire to see God's Kingdom of love, peace, joy, life, safety, crime reduction, release from addictions, etc, etc become a reality for the wider community and nations. Paul is a visionary and pioneer - seeing what could be and working toward, partnering with others, and/or setting up initiatives to help make vision a reality.
To support wider faith engagement Paul was one of the people behind #FaithAndPoliceTogether, is an Associate with Faith in Society, and a Trustee for ROC (Redeeming Our Communities), and Christians in Calderdale Schools. Paul also promotes the trendy marketing campaign Jesus Loves Yorkshire (which came out of Jesus Loves Festivals and Jesus Loves Clubbers designed by Tim Hearson!)
At the opening of Halifax Piece Hall in August 2017 Paul was reminded of the Bible verse “seek the peace and prosperity of the city... Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper" (Jeremiah 29:7) Out of this challenge Paul worked with his church leaders to set up Calderdale Chaplains which is the local church engaging with the wider community in the Piece Hall. Believing that other communities are in need of peace and prosperity he set up the4Ps (including The4PsCollaborative group) to challenge people intentional about seeking to PRAY for the PEACE and PROSPERITY of PLACES.
Paul has organised several key events for the church in Halifax as well as conferences for CNI Network and is involved in initiatives such as Big Church Day Out where he heads up the Welfare team. He offers support, mentoring and encouragement to wide range of other church and ministry leaders and has a passion to support, encourage and equip emerging leaders who will reach and impact generations to come and carry on building the Kingdom of God into the future.
Paul has preached in several church gatherings in the UK, Brasil, Italy and America. He often posts Christian based thoughts and reflections on his Facebook page and Blog.
Paul would love to help faith groups as they look at discovering a greater impact within the community they serve. Contact for details - email / 07725501465.
